how achebe rescued ‘weep not, child’

This is a nice article on the birth of a novel. The novel in case is ‘Weep not, child’ by James Ngugi, who has since named himself Ngugi wa Thiong’o. The man who handled the book at Heinemann Educational Books writes about the influence of the Nigerian writer Chinua Achebe, who was the editor of the (soon to be) famous African Writers Series.

So read a firsthand account by Keith Sambrook.
