These 7 African Women Poets

To me it seems that poetry is often considered as a younger sister of the novel. Most people prefer to talk to and listen to the elder sister. Poetry is however a young and attractive sister who needs observation and time to see her mature in your own eyes. For in a way the beauty of a poem is in the eye of the beholder. You need some experience in reading and observing and recognizing allusions and cross references.
